Flora Marie Probst Haines
Our beloved mother, Flora Marie (Probst) Haines, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 15, 2016.
She was born September 24, 1927, to Adolph Julius Probst and Bertha Pauline (Gross) Probst at Roosevelt, Texas, in Kimble County. At age three the family moved to the Long Mountain Community. Flora worked as a surgery nurse at Brady Hospital before marrying Raymond Lee Haines on January 8, 1949. They lived in the Camp Air and Katemcy communities for fifty-two years.
She was preceded in death by husband Raymond, by parents Adolph and Bertha Probst, brother A.J. “Jr.” Probst, sister Anna Lena Polk, infant twin brothers, brother-in-law Wilkes Polk, and brother-in-law Jimmy Dunlap.
She is survived by three children, Connie and husband Rex Smith of Mason; Bertha and husband Daniel Ramsey of Colorado City; John and wife Dayna Haines of Mason. Flora is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Robby Rodgers; Aimee McKnight and friend Jimmy Mitchell; Dana and husband Lance Criswell; Tina and husband Alex Robles; Kerry and husband Keith Riley; Becky and husband Jeremy Olson; Kassie and husband Alan Eason; Royce and wife Alyssa Haines. Flora is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren, Tristan Rodgers and Audrey Rodgers; Keegan McKnight and Kadence McKnight and Jagger Mitchell; Ethan Criswell and Chance Criswell; Alyssa Robles, Meredith Robles, Madelynn Robles and Landyn Robles; Jacob Riley and Daniel Riley; Paislee Olson and Cutter Olson. She will also be missed by sister-in-law Lou Etta Probst, brother-in-law Andrew Haines and wife Iva Mae; sister-in-law Lorene Dunlap; brother-in-law Edward Haines and wife Alene; brother-in-law L. B. Haines and wife Debbie; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Grandsons Robby Rodgers, Lance Criswell, Alex Robles, Keith Riley, Jeremy Olson, Alan Eason and Royce Haines will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, her fifteen great-grandchildren and her special nephew David Kitchens.
Visitation at Mason Funeral Home on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. (204 Post Oak St.) – Funeral Service at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday May 21, 2016 – Burial follows at Gooch Cemetery.
