Grab your golf clubs and head for Delaware Springs Golf Course in Burnet for the Hill Country Area Crime Stoppers Fundraiser Golf Tournament this Friday, March 27. There will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
In addition to Blanco County, Crime Stoppers serves Burnet, Llano, Mason, Lampasas and San Saba, as well as 11 independent school districts including Blanco, Burnet, Marble Falls, Llano, Johnson City, Mason, Lampasas, Lometa, San Saba, Cherokee and Richland Springs — the same geographic region as the 33rd and 424th Judicial District.
According to Crime Stoppers board member Bill Weaver, the golf tournament plays a vital role in keeping the non-profit entity afloat.
"We do not receive any outside funds for the operation of the Hill Country Area Crime Stoppers," Weaver said. The funds used to reward anonymous tips that lead to an arrest and conviction are obtained from fees assessed to law breakers.
This is the 19th annual event will be a four person scramble. The entry fee is $75 per person or $300 per team, which includes green fees, carts, dinner and prizes.
Sponsorships are also encouraged. Gold sponsorships of $200 will include a prominent sign displayed on the golf course, two tickets for dinner and one entry fee. Silver sponsorships of $100 will also include a sign at the tee box and two dinner tickets. A bronze sponsorship will include a sign in the pro shop and two dinner tickets.
For golf, checks should be made payable to Delaware Springs G. C, Attention Doug Fipps and can be mailed to P.O.
