I cannot believe that the year is almost over! It has been such a successful and productive year at the Mason County Chamber of Commerce. Many improvements and accomplishments were made in 2015. Our new website was launched, we had a significant increase in membership and through good planning and budgeting we were able to increase advertising which in turn brought visitors to town that shopped, ate in our restaurants and slept in our beds.
The Wild Game Dinner was a huge success! We served 549 individuals. This was an increase of 123 people from our 2014 dinner. We had visitors from all over Texas and the United States. Texas visitors came from Granite Shoals, Burnet, Liberty Hill, Tow, Falls City, Brazoria, San Angelo, Baytown, Llano, Coleman, Italy, Glen Rose, Fredericksburg, Milam, Conroe, Brady, Walburg, Houston, Grand Prairie, Leander, Austin, Mouton, Kerrville, Fort Worth, Kilgore, Melvin, Humble, Weatherford, Longview, New Braunfels, Sherman, League City, Lone Oak and Comfort. We had out of state visitors from Idalia, CO, Portland, OR, Mesilla, NM, Bailey, CO, La Jolla, CA, Harper, LA and Annapolis, MD. We also had visitors from Scotland and Alberta, Canada. We had many, many visitors from Mason and Mason County that came out and supported our Wild Game Dinner. We are very appreciative of each and every one of you. The Board and I hope that everyone had a wonderful time and welcome any feedback that you may have. We would also like to thank all of the sponsors and volunteers. Without you, it would be impossible to pull this event off and for it to be such a success. The Wild Game Dinner is our largest fundraiser of the year and helps with chamber office expenses and expenses in promoting tourism to Mason.
This past month we welcomed three new members – Buddy's Animal Rescue, Marketing by Design – Cerise Carter and Hill Country Memorial Hospital. This brings our membership to 208 members. We have gained 31 new members just this year. For more information on each of these members please visit our website at www.masontxcoc.com.
