Noel-
For the month of December, we plan on reviewing some of our favorite Christmas movies, classic and newer ones.
I am reviewing one of my favorite comedy Christmas movies, Elf starring Will Ferrell. From the first time I watched it in 2003, Elf has been one of those movies you have to watch every year with the family.
Will Ferrell stars as Buddy, a human that ended up in the North Pole as a baby and was raised by an elf.

Anyone who owns a dog or a cat knows that they will typically eat anything they can get their paws on. While it is not harmful for a dog to eat a cat’s food, it can be potentially hazardous for a cat to eat a dog’s food. In moderation, a cat eating a dog’s food is probably safe, but if the cat is only eating Fido’s dinner, they are probably not getting the nutrients that are essential to their specific health needs.
“Cats’ nutrition requirements are different than dogs’, they hav ...

As we gather to feast with family and friends this holiday season, let us remember to extend our gratitude to the farmers and ranchers who sustain our lives.
Thanks to their tireless efforts in times of unpredictable weather and rising operating costs, America remains fortunate to enjoy a vast and safe food supply.
In Texas, the men and women who make it their life’s work to feed and clothe our nation impact the Lone Star State’s economy to the tune of more than $100 billion.

I’ve been reading about Miriam, Moses’ sister, in Numbers, chapter 12. I pray now, that God place a guard over my mouth, so I won’t complain! Have you ever listened to yourself? I began listening to myself as I converse with people, and we complain about everything!
Numbers 12 – “1NOW MIRIAM and Aaron talked against Moses [their brother] because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite woman.
2And they said, Has the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses?

Some dread Christmas.
These aren’t modern Scrooges, humbugging the reason for the season; they just have trouble handling some of the uncomfortable feelings that arrive uninvited at this time of the year.
Melancholy moods often surface at Christmas.
Sometimes gloomy feelings are caused by guilt.
Since Christmas brings a flood of memories, the good replays are likely to be accompanied by unpleasant ones that put a damper on family gatherings.

This is the fifth week in a 5 week series on one of the most important questions asked throughout history. That question is this: “Is the Bible Really True?” That is to say, “Is the Bible we read today the same as what was written by those people “way back when.” This question is a fair question and requires a reliable response.

Dear Editor,
I attended the Blanco Panther/Industrial Cobra football game on Saturday and felt compelled to write to bring your attention to several things. First, let me say that I grew up in Fredericksburg and now reside in Wimberley. My family and I attended the game because we have relatives that live in the Industrial ISD and in Blanco.
As my family and I walked into the stadium we came up on a white Blanco Panther trailer that is obviously used to haul equipment for the band, football t ...

Wow! What a season!
I am just a spectator,
But I write this for a reason.
I have been there,
And the feelings I have felt inside,
The accomplishment, the anxiety,
And definitely the pride.
I want to say, I see a team full of spirit,
Just to start,
A team, with so much talent, but yet, most of all,
A team with tremendous heart.
School is about academics,
Which is a must to survive later in life, this day.
But sports teach respect, team work,
And the ability to accept what comes our ...

We hope you enjoyed the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Did you make it downtown to visit the shops and enjoy the lights Friday night? It was worth the hours of labor, the food, drinks, music and lights.
Have you begun cutting back the plants that are damaged due to the light freezes? Cut back damaged foliage and then mulch and replant with winter color.

Would you like a green home? I'm not talking about a residence painted the shade of a lime. I mean green as in environmentally friendly.
These days, many people consider the environment when making purchases. Just look at the popularity of hybrid vehicles, alternative fuels, locally grown produce, and a host of other products designed to use fewer resources and reduce pollution and waste.
