First off, you have to understand that competition chili is not what you would feed your friends and family on a cold winter day.

We learned in elementary school how the water cycle goes. The amount of water we have on and above earth is all there is. The clouds gather moisture, rain falls to the ground and runs off into creeks, low water crossings, and eventually rivers swell. Oh yes, some of it gets into the ground to migrate into the aquifer.

I had a dream one time, years ago, about the state of Israel. I was at an assembly of the United Nations and they were deciding whether or not to annihilate the state of Israel. I was surrounded by faces ranging from sober to irate. I pleaded with them to allow Israel to remain in existence as a safe place for Jews, etc.

Jesus said “I am the Door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:9 A preacher said rejecting Jesus is blaspheming the Holy Spirit, and Jesus said in Mark 3:29 “But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.” Is something hindering your belief?

Jesus said, "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth" (Matthew 5:5). The word translated 'meekness' is the regular word for a animal being domesticated. For instance a horse answers to it's reigns and thus becomes useful. A horse brought under control is just as strong as it was when it was unbroken, but broken it becomes useful to it's owner.

Dear Editor, Until today’s paper came, it seemed that there were no Obama supporters in Blanco County. Thank you, Ms. Evans and Mr. Arnosky, for your letter to the editor. While Ms. Evans is unknown to me, I have long admired Pam and Frank Arnosky as model parents, successful farmers, and energetic dancers.

Dear Editor, The recent onslaught of letters regarding reforms prompted me to share some thoughts of my own. One writer suggested that everyone in the Hill Country should have health insurance and be free of the worries that illness may cause. We can all agree with that. Perhaps everyone who can should adopt an uninsured individual or family to relieve their suffering.
