The family of a 20-year-old Kendalia man is searching for clues as to his whereabouts. Trey Noah was last seen on November 30, 2009 at his parent’s home. He was at the residence when they left for work.
Neither family nor friends have heard from him since that day.
Trey is 6-feet, 2-inches tall, weighs 210 lbs and has blond hair and blue eyes.

Following a busy week preparing and exhibiting livestock at the Blanco County Youth Show, several local exhibitors traveled to Kerrville to take part in the annual Hill Country District Junior Livestock Show. The Hill District show has proven yearly to be the largest district show in the state and one of the larger more competitive livestock shows in the area.

The County Clerk’s office is currently accepting applications to vote by mail. Individuals who will be absent from the county on the day of the election or are over the age of 65 or disabled are eligible to vote by mail and may contact the County Clerk’s office at 830-868-7357 about obtaining an application to vote by mail.
The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is February 23, 2010.

District wins were tough to secure for the Varsity boys this week as they lost 45-56 to the Randolph Ro-Hawks on Tuesday, January 26 and 56-58 to the Comfort Bobcats on January 29.
In their earlier district clash, the Panthers lost to the Ro-Hawks by nineteen points; this rematch was much closer with Blanco keeping it close until the final buzzer.

Teresa Stahl and Robert Henry III “Tres” are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Trinity Faye Henry, born Monday, December 14, 2009, at 10:45 p.m. in San Antonio, TX at Stone Oak Methodist Hospital. Trinity weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. and was 20.75 inches long.
She is welcomed with love by her grandparents, Charles and Pauline Stahl of Blanco, TX, and Bob and Connie Henry of Blanco, TX, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

I was in elementary school when Dad brought home our first television set. He had won it at a fund raising auction—it was the first TV in our neighborhood.
The screen was all of ten inches and the picture was in black and white. There were only three stations and they went off the air at midnight after playing the national anthem.

AUSTIN — Security concerns ballooned on Jan. 21, after a man fired pistol shots outside the south entrance of the state Capitol building.
Fausto Cardenas, the shooter, was quickly apprehended by authorities and no one was injured in the incident.
On Jan. 28, leaders met to discuss how Capitol security might be improved.

As women, we spend a lot of time watching for signs of cancers related to a woman’s body. We have mammograms regularly and “well-woman” visits to rule out uterine or ovarian cancers. But most of us don’t know that the number one killer of American women is heart disease.
That’s right—heart disease kills more women than ALL types of cancer combined.

The Albert Community Club held its first meeting of 2010 on Saturday, January 30. Twenty-five members and visitors gathered around the wood stove for an afternoon of fun. Following a short business meeting, a potluck supper of Mexican food was enjoyed by all attending.
Visitors and new members are welcome to join club members at any of the meetings.

TEMPLE, TEXAS – The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is accepting applications to participate in USDA’s Grassland Reserve Program (GRP), a $4.6 million conservation program in Texas.

The question, “What is true,” is the most important question in history. Through the ages people have sought for truth, which can be as allusive as a “dust bunny” in the sunlight shining through a window.
As we embark upon this sermon series on “The Cosmic Quest for Truth” we must be aware of some of the pitfalls.[1] According to “The Barna Update” for February, 2, 2002 Americans are most likely to base truth on feelings.

Ann Logan Craft passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. As difficult as it is for her family and many friends who loved her and are left to carry on, she would want us to honor her memory by living each day to the fullest in joyous respect for the life she led.
She was born June 19, 1932 in Valdosta, GA and grew up in San Marcos, TX.

Clarence Emil Waxler, 86, moved on to be with his Lord and rejoin his family and friends in heaven January 27, 2010.
He was born on October 29, 1923, in Hye, Texas, and lived in the Hill Country for 82 years before living in Poteet the last four.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ida Waxler, and his wife, Helen Joyce Armke.
Clarence met Helen in 1952 while he was building the post office.

Plants have frozen that never froze before; what do I do now? I have heard this question more than any other. First, we will have another freeze before spring and the plants will freeze again. We have cut plants down to the living tissue. If the flowers have frozen to the ground, such as cannas, ground covers, mums, lilies, etc., cut them to the ground.

Congratulations to Bruce Malone who came in 1st place in the ‘50’ plus race, held at Flat Rock Creek Ranch in Comfort. He competed in a 52-mile mountain bike race, which took over five hours. Bruce said it was very cold and very muddy. His parents are Judy and Bobby Brewer of Blanco.
Condolences go out to Clarence Waxler’s family.
