Brewer Recognized For Contributions (January 13, 2010) – At the monthly business meeting, the Blanco Volunteer Fire Department awarded Mrs. Judy Brewer a Lifetime Membership and a commemorative clock in recognition of her many contributions to the dept.

Cicero Alexander Rust, Jr. of Blanco, Texas, was born September 28, 1915, in the Hill Country near Buzzard Roost southwest of Blanco and passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010.
On an evening threatening thunderstorms, on May 7, 1936, Cicero eloped with Olla Danz, of Stonewall and Johnson City, daughter of Louis and Ottilie Dora Jacoby Danz, from a bluff on Miller Creek near Johnson City.
Cicero ranched, indeed.

Dixie Lee Hallenberger, 62, passed peacefully from this life Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at his home in Federal Way, Washington surrounded by family and friends. Dixie was born on October 2, 1948 in Blanco, Texas to Marvin Dixie and Dorris Massey Hallenberger, who preceeded him in death.
After graduation from Blanco High School in 1967, Dixie attended Southwest Texas State University and enlisted in the U.S.

Martin Charles Brandt, of Blanco, Texas, was born March 10, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas to Martin and Audrey Brandt and he died of cancer at his home December 29, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Lou (Rhoades) Brandt; sons Greg Brandt (Melanie) and Jeff Brandt; sister Sandra Shellaby; and grandchildren Taylor Brandt, Spencer Brandt, and Hayley Brandt, all of San Antonio.
