Wow, was I wrong. I just assumed that people who were Texas Master Naturalists just liked animals and plants. After a wonderful interview with one of our local Highland Lakes members, Sue Kersey, I found out that you need to roll up your sleeves once you decide to become a Texas Master Naturalist. We have a super chapter here in our Highland Lakes area and they cover three counties – Blanco, Burnet and Llano.

Fact or Fiction? We don’t need an Outdoor Lighting Ordinance in Blanco. Truth: We already have one and have had since February 14, 2006, when the City Council adopted the current Unified Development Code, including Section 5.12, Outdoor Lighting. The seller said, "Why in the world would you want a dead donkey?" He said, "Come see me in a couple of months!" When he did the man told him he had made $898.00 profit off the dead donkey.

Verse 2 is telling us to restrain ourselves if we love to eat, and if we can't then we're in danger because the meat is "deceitful"

Dear Editor, Wow... I go on vacation for a week and come back to find our city council has declared a second visitor center in Blanco. My main concern, doesn’t anyone remember what Johnson City went through just a few years ago when they had two visitor centers? One location was on Hwy 281 and the other was in the JC Chamber.

Dear Editor, Our totem pole is gone! It is beyond me why anyone would just drive onto private property and pick up something that does not belong to them. I know I hear that it happens everyday, but when it happens to you, you feel so violated. Overall, you don’t hear about most of these thefts in our sweet town of Blanco.

For many people, the garage is the area in their home that collects the garbage and becomes a storage area for many items. Taking the time to organize your garage often gets put on the back burner with all the other home remodeling tasks you are doing. If your garage is too small, consider adding on to it to increase the square footage of your home.

Despite the fact that you know your home better than anyone, you may not be able to easily gauge its value. Setting a price that will lead to a quick sale for the highest possible amount is no easy task.
