In the Texas Hill Country, the stars at night are not as bright as they once were. The view of this treasured natural resource, the awe of generations past, is being slowly dimmed due to the effects of encroaching light pollution. Poorly designed outdoor lighting fixtures that needlessly and often unintentionally shine up into the night sky are causing our view of the magnificent, starry heavens to fade away.

This week, we will finish our series on Revival Lessons. Here are some things we have covered: 1. When our eyes are open, we must acknowledge our lukewarm state, repent, and be on fire. 2. We, who are true Christians, must know that in Spirit, we are saved; but that in soul and body we are being saved - in the sanctification process.

I was never taught the blessing we receive when we tithe 10% into God’s storehouse, as is written in Malachi chapter 3:10. All my life I struggled financially, working two jobs most of the time, and even 3 two different times in my life, to make ends meet as a single parent, and not ever able to rest on weekends.

Dear Editor, I love kid’s baseball/softball games. They are so much fun! They normally don’t make TV news unless some parent/coach/child does something that makes us cringe. The everyday normal game should be on the news. I spent this past Saturday watching a couple of Blanco games. I am a grandparent and that means I don’t have to try and watch the game, chase around my kids, and spend time in the concession stand.
