We need sight. We can be and often are blinded to the truth. Satan convinces us that our sins are not so bad. We fail to see the need for spiritual preparation. Procrastination becomes the rule of life. Scripture is read or heard but quickly dismissed in favor of family or tradition, yet only God's truth can set us free (John 8:31-32). We need hindsight.

I’m so grateful to God our heavenly Father for preserving His Word throughout all the generations it took to finally get to me. I guess that’s why my heart is so full of love and joy and the desire to share it with you! His Word is something I can’t keep to myself because it has set me free.

I pray you have gleaned some wisdom from the lives of Mary & Joseph; and that you will seek to imitate them as they imitate Christ (1Cor 11:1). This godly couple, chosen to raise the Son of God here on earth, should cause us to want to raise the bar in our own relationship with God and our spouse.

Dear Editor, It was a very sad day when an eviction notice was posted on Blanco's American Legion Building. Veterans, 10 days to get out. The message this sends to our community lacks loyalty, commitment and our traditional values. Who could foresee sixty-five years ago that verbal agreements made by our city officials to our American Veterans would mean nothing in the years to come?

Renovation is a big word. According to Webster’s Dictionary, Renovate means: to make changes and repairs to (an old house, building, room, etc.) so that it is back in good condition; to restore to a former better state (as by cleaning, repairing, or rebuilding). First question, are you doing renovations for yourself or to sell your home?
