I didn’t notice that part of the article on Abraham’s seed had been cut off until I had already submitted Hebrews 4. And you didn’t get to read the most important Scriptures showing us that we are Abraham’s seed if we believe God raised Jesus from the dead and trust in Him, like Abraham did! If you are like I was, and need to understand it, take these Scriptures and look them up in your bibles and read the whole chapter they’re in, to take in the whole meaning of them. They will enrich your faith and dispel all doubt, and you can then truly believe God’s promises are indeed for you!
Romans 4:13 "That famous promise God gave Abraham—that he and his children would possess the earth—was not given because of something Abraham did or would do. It was based on God's decision to put everything together for him, which Abraham then entered when he believed. If those who get what God gives them only get it by doing everything they are told to do and filling out all the right forms properly signed, that eliminates personal trust completely and turns the promise into an ironclad contract! That's not a holy promise; that's a business deal. A contract drawn up by a hard-nosed lawyer and with plenty of fine print only makes sure that you will never be able to collect. But if there is no contract in the first place, simply a promise—and God's promise at that—you can't break it." The Message
Romans 4:16-17 "16 For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace; to the end that the promise may be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, A father of many nations have I made thee) before him whom he believed, even God, who giveth life to the dead, and calleth the things that are not, as though they were." ASV
Romans 4:18 "[For Abraham, human reason for] hope being gone, hoped in faith that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been promised, So [numberless] shall your descendants be." Amplified
Romans 4:19 "Abraham didn't focus on his own impotence and say, "It's hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child." Nor did he survey Sarah's decades of infertility and give up. He didn't tiptoe around God's promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, sure that God would make good on what he had said. That's why it is said, "Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right." But it's not just Abraham; it's also us! The same thing gets said about us when we embrace and believe the One who brought Jesus to life when the conditions were equally hopeless. The sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God, set us right with God." The Message
Romans 4:20 "Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God." NLT
Romans 4:22-24 "22 And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. 23 And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded 24 for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead." NLT
Romans 9:8 "This means that Abraham’s physical descendants are not necessarily children of God. Only the children of the promise are considered to be Abraham’s children." NLT
I want to break here, and just point out that it’s our faith that makes us righteous, not our ancestry, so the question here is, "where is your faith?" We don’t need a genealogical tree, we just need Jesus, God’s Son, who is God in the flesh, and His holy Word. We just need to quit asking all the questions and rationalizing, theorizing and wondering, and just study God’s Word. Ask Him to wash us with His Word, and He will, and then just believe it.
Romans 11:1 "[The Loyal Minority] Does this mean, then, that God is so fed up with Israel that he'll have nothing more to do with them? Hardly. Remember that I, the one writing these things, am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham out of the tribe of Benjamin. You can't get much more Semitic than that! So we're not talking about repudiation. God has been too long involved with Israel, has too much invested, to simply wash his hands of them." The Message
Romans 11:17 "But some of these branches from Abraham’s tree—some of the people of Israel—have been broken off. And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, have been grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in the rich nourishment from the root of God’s special olive tree." NLT
