BMS Band Competes in UIL Concert Contest
Wednesday, March 30, 2011 • Posted April 1, 2011

On March 7, the Blanco Middle School band traveled to Canyon Lake High School to compete in the UIL Concert Contest. The Middle School Band received a first division superior rating for their concert performance of their three concert pieces – Honor Guard (March), Sakura (Japanese Folk Song), and Atlantis (Overture). This is the first time since 2004 that the Blanco Middle School Band has received a first division rating in concert. It must be noted that because the eighth grade is part of the High School Band, the seventh grade must compete with other school’s eighth grade bands. Many other schools performed before Blanco, but our Middle School was the first band in the contest to receive the highest rating. Congratulations seventh grade band members!
