Mr. Rogers, thank you for your comments. My assumptions as to your job description were evidently incorrect. Should there have been legal action or if there is legal action in the future "I assumed" you would be involved. My actions have never been to make people think ill of any of our elected or appointed officials. Again, as I have said in the past, I hold nothing against current city officials or for that matter, you. These folks have my admiration and gratitude for doing a job, many times, no one else wants to do.

My comparison to mayors and CEOs is to show that the Blanco City Government should have advisors. This comparison had nothing to do with pay. Don’t you feel the mayor has to answer to their citizens like a CEO answers to the company’s stockholders? To add to this, don’t I have the right to speak up about things happening in the city much like stockholders speaking at an annual meeting? Much like a public company or the President of the United States, it would be nice if the mayor gave us an "Annual Meeting/State of the Union" report.
My goal in writing my last two letters were to give people here in Blanco something to think about when they return to the polls in May. There are many things that need to be done for our city, and I would love to see a local government with a definite plan that they are willing to share with the community.
Regarding the controversy over the new sign, "I felt" our elected officials made a snap decision without the benefit of a group of advisors. "It appears" the P & Z opinion was completely disregarded in this decision. The reason for my objection is the old sign ordinance and the new one being proposed have nothing regarding the proportion of the sign on the street and the size of the building.
Mr. Rogers, as to your question of why I am not running for office, I do not know if I will be living in town or not. Don’t you think it would be unfair to become elected and then move? As to the spirit of the question, I think I am as civic minded as anyone. Our motel is hosting a fund raiser for our police department this fall. Which I am curious, if we have almost 4 million dollars in the bank (as a city), why can’t we afford a few extra things needed for our police force? Nothing seems to be earmarked in this bank account. On a number of occasions, I have extended my offer to help in any capacity to the last 3 mayors and several council members. Rebecca Howerton is the only member of government who has taken me up on my offer.
Concerning my grammar, neither of my parents were English teachers, and I am sorry you think I am rambling. I stand before you and the rest of the town and publicly state, "I am not a writer." The reason for my "rambling" is I love this town with a passion. With that said, I will support anything that promotes Blanco and fight anything that "I feel" is detrimental to our town. My views seem to be supported by a number of favorable comments from local citizens and county residents that have been made to me.
I hope this answered your questions. All that said, Eddy, come by and join me on our deck... let us get to know one another.
