Tejas Art Club Artist of the Month

Jan Burley began her studies of fine art in her youth under the direction and instruction of Charles Berkeley Norman, at the Texas School of Fine Arts, in Austin, Texas. During her studies at the University of Texas, she continued painting private commissions, primarily focusing on exotic game and wildlife subjects in her preferred mediums of watercolor, oil, pastels, and ink.

She was awarded the honor of designing the organizational patch for the Flight Design and Dynamics Division at NASA. After retiring from NASA and Aerospace Engineering, she continued her formal art training and studies in Communication Design at Texas State University; where her artwork was exhibited in the University’s 2D Design Show.

Recent exhibitions and memberships include the 2010 Blanco Lavender Festival Fine Arts Show, Uptown Blanco Fine Arts and Crafts Show, Tejas Art Club, Bulverde Spring Branch Art Association, the 2010 Wimberley Valley Art League Double Exposure Exhibit, and Wimberley Valley Art League’s Artist of the Month, March 2011. Upcoming shows include the 2011 Wimberley ArtsFest, and the 2011 Blanco Lavender Festival.
