Trash Talk

The wind blew hard Sunday night bringing rain but also knocking over trash containers put out for Monday pick-up.  Thanks to my thoughtful neighbor for righting mine and gathering up spilled debris early Monday morning!  A “Good Night Neighbor” award to the Gourleys for removing their yard light, helping keep Blanco’s stars big and bright.  Tom and Jeff — you make great neighbors.

Twelve days have passed since Blanco’s 12th Annual Trash-Off.  For a few moments, our streets were free of cans, bottles and fast food containers.  Last weekend I walked from Fulcher to Flat Rock and back around in front of the high school.  With my two out of town guests, we picked up three bags of trash — all discarded in the past week!  Shame on us (the citizens of Blanco) for not picking up after ourselves and those “passer throughs” who trash our town.
