The Kingdom

Keith–We’re still a few weeks behind after the holidays, but the Kingdom is a movie which came out a few weeks ago that is definitely worth seeing. A terrorist attack on Saudi soil kills over a hundred people and four special FBI subjects travel to try and help the investigation. The movie is well-written and the last 30 minutes are some of the most intense I’ve seen in a while, and spells out some of the true nature of the situations facing certain people in other parts of the world. 3 ½ paws.

The Waitress

Noel–Well, first off, Happy New Year! The Waitress was on our top 10 list of 2007 and if you haven’t seen it yet, you are really missing out. This is a slower movie that is set in a southern town with good ole’ fashioned people (at least most of them). The movie starts out with a girl and a pregnancy test, and she is praying that it is negative. Well, it’s not. She is very upset and disappointed, despite the fact that she is married and the baby’s daddy is her husband. We soon find out that her husband is very emotionally imbalanced and, quite frankly, insane! She really hits it off with her new OBY/GYN doctor and that turns into a whirlwind of “adventure”! This is an incredible movie that has everything in it that I personally love, turmoil, love and humor, and great characters like Andy Griffith, Keri Russell, Cheryl Hines, and Jeremy Sisto. This movie didn’t get a lot of advertising and was unfortunately overlooked, but it is well worth seeing and one of my new favorites. 4 paws!
