Volunteer Amelia Lintner controls the flow of traffic seeking entrance to the County-wide Trash-Off on Saturday, April 16.  The response was overwhelming and traffic backed up for half a mile down Highway 281.  Commissioner Paul Granberg reported that despite waits of up to 2 hours, all 500 plus vehicles and trailers unloaded their debris by shortly after 3 p.m.  The County-wide trash day was staffed by the County Commissioners and volunteers including county employees, Johnson City staff, men from the Intermediate Sanction Facility in Burnet, and local high school teens. All the citizens of Blanco did a great job.

A Good Night Neighbor shout-out goes to Chuck Homan for having PEC adjust the light they recently installed on his property so it does not shine in the neighbors’ windows.  If we all cooperate on light pollution we will all benefit.  Do not be afraid to discuss light trespass with your neighbors!
