Are you thankful? Or are you complaining? Are you confident God will take care of you? Or are you worried? Jesus prayed to God in Matthew chapter 17, that we (everyone who would believe in Him) would have the same joy in the Father that He had.
John 17:13-21 “13 “Now I am coming to you. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy. 14 I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. 15 I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. 16 They do not belong to this world any more than I do. 17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. 18 Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. 19 And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.
20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”
We should be filled with His joy. We should be thankful. My proverb for yesterday was the 17th Proverb. Verse 20 says “20 The crooked heart will not prosper;the lying tongue tumbles into trouble.”
We need to check our hearts and watch our tongues. I literally pray that the Holy Spirit quicken me before I speak something wrong. If I think about what I’m saying, it works! If I’m being selfish, it doesn’t.
It is written in Proverbs 18:10 “10 The name of the Lord is a strong fortress;the godly run to him and are safe.”
We can trust in our Lord. We can trust in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I am thankful that I know God. I am thankful that I have His holy Word to read and believe in. I am thankful that I have sound teaching out of His holy Word, and that He gave us His Holy Spirit to teach us!
Jesus said “But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.” John 14:26
Thank You Jesus, for coming, for dying for our sins, and for leaving us Your Holy Spirit to teach us, protect us, and guide us. You said You would never leave us, and You haven’t left us. You dwell in us who believe in You.
John 14:16 “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.”
Hallelujah! We praise You, Jesus! We thank You, Jesus. We love You, Jesus, our Emmanuel.
