The Lady Panthers improved their District 8-AA record to 6-1 this past week with decisive wins over Ingram and Harper.
Against the Ingram Lady Warriors on April 12, the Panthers started slow with only a 2-0 lead at the end of the second inning. However, the Blanco girls scored three runs in the third, five in the fourth, and two more in the fifth to win 12-3.
Leslie McClinton led the Panthers with three hits — a single, double, and a triple to score one run and four RBI. Hillary Calzoncit added two hits, a single and a double, and one RBI. Meaghen Seales scored three runs and Kelsey Schwind posted three RBI. Meaghen Seales pitched for the win.
On a road trip to Harper last Friday, the ladies fell behind 0-2 at the end of the first inning, but they came alive in the second inning, scoring eight runs. At the end of six innings, the game ended with a 15-4 win for Blanco.
Callie Culton led the way for the Panthers with three hits; two singles and a double, two runs and one RBI. Taylor Guinn had a single and two RBI. Hillary Calzoncit brought in four RBI and Leslie McClinton scored three runs. Callie Culton pitched for the win.
The Panthers’ season record is now 17-12.
