Three Small Steps For Man, One Giant Leap Forward

When Neil Armstrong took the first step on the Moon he said, “One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” That simple step marked the end of a long process and the beginning of a new age of exploration. Often times small simple things can make a big difference in our life.

We can take the first step by choosing to Forget the Past. We certainly can learn from the past but at the same time not let past mistakes become a stumbling block to future progress. Concerning our sins, God promises in Christ to remember them no more (Hebrews 8:12).

The second step is to Focus Our Priorities. Spiritual priorities will put God on our ‘to do’ list every day. Set your goals and pray. Focus keeps your attention from drifting and prayer calls for the grace and providence of God to assist you in your life.

The third step is to Function in the Present. Pleasant memories are a blessing and future planning is necessary, but endless reminiscing about the past and constantly delaying until tomorrow what we can do today can lead to a unfulfilled life.

Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never be, but today is God’s gift to create a brighter tomorrow, let us use it wisely.
