Yucca Garden Club Announces Lighting Contest Winners
Wednesday, December 31, 2008 • Posted December 30, 2008

The Yucca Garden Club held their Annual Christmas Light Contest again this year in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce.

Each year, the Yucca Garden Club accepts entries from residents and businesses in Blanco in search of the best Christmas light displays.

“It is so hard to choose. They all do such a wonderful job!” said Ruby Duecker.

After careful deliberation, Bobby and Judy Brewer at 119 Felps Drive were named the winners for the Resident category.

They were presented with a gift basket from Vintage Cottage, a $25 gift card from the Blanco Ice House, Free Blizzard coupons from Dairy Queen, and a Blanco County Ornament from the Blanco Chamber of Commerce.

The winner of the Business category was Uptown Blanco Arts and Entertainment, located at 518 Third Street. They received a $50 gift card from Blanco National Bank, one large bottle of egg nog from Hill Country Liquor, and a Blanco County Ornament from the Blanco Chamber of Commerce.

Honorable Mentions went to Doris Phipps and the Sunset Restaurant.

The Yucca Garden Club thanks everyone who entered. It was a hard decision and all the decorations were beautiful. A big thank you to all of the businesses that donated the prizes.
