Uptown Blanco Art Gallery is proud to present “Award-Winning Art from LBJ (Johnson City) and Blanco High Schools.”

Ms. Diane Hudson, art teacher at LBJ High School and at Uptown Blanco Art Center, recently took her students to the regional Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE). Her art students won at regional and then advanced to state competition to win gold seals the highest state VASE award.

The Visual Arts Scholastic Event, hosted by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA),  recognizes exemplary student achievement in the Visual Arts by providing art students and programs a standard of excellence in which to achieve.

Art teachers whose students participate and excel in VASE are to be commended as this takes an extraordinary level of instructor dedication.

Blanco High School art students, with art instructor Ms. Perry Kuebel, also participated in regional VASE.

The public is welcome to attend the exciting gallery opening for the student art on April 29, from 5 to 7pm.  The student artists will be available to discuss their work and achievements. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.

The show will remain in the gallery from April 25 to May 14.

The Gallery (and Uptown Blanco Art Center) is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 5 pm and Saturday from 10am to 2pm, or by appointment. It is located on 3rd between Main (281) and Elm, one block west of historical Courthouse Square. Please email or phone for more: mary@uptownblanco.com  or 830-833-1579, extension 220.
