Despite the wind and lack of rain, there are beautiful wildflowers all over town.  Take a walk along Fulcher and River Run to the river’s edge at Flat Rock.  It is beautiful!  Trash has been picked up and pink, yellow and orange flowers delight the eye.  Take a picnic lunch and watch the birds at Flat Rock or play in the water to cool off.  Bring your fishing rod!   The fish must be biting as the bank is usually occupied by several fisherpersons.  Just remember  pack out your trash!  Broken glass usually results in cut feet at areas where people swim.  Ducks get tangled up in plastic debris and even ingest bottle caps.  Discarded fishing line is a hazard to all wildlife as they are immobilized when they get tangled in it.  Let’s take care of our environment!
