Local Brokers Lobby to Get Blanco County Included in a Board Jurisdiction
Wednesday, May 4, 2011 • Posted May 5, 2011

Debbie Vallone-Homeier, Vallone Real Estate and Candy Cargill, Hill Country Real Estate were recently on a mission to continue to enhance the services of the local sellers and buyers within Blanco County.  Blanco County did not belong to any jurisdiction.  Meaning, Blanco Country did not formally belong to any Real Estate Board territory.  Blanco Country could participate with boards, and can still participate with other boards, but to have a vote and say meant joining a jurisdiction.  The most logical choice was with the Gillespie (Fredericksburg) Board.  The board recently made application to NAR (National Association of Realtors®) for a change of jurisdiction to include Blanco County.  To complete this, other local Brokers had to sign a partition to also want this.   We have been successful in accomplishing this.  We have just been named to the Gillespie Board.   The new jurisdiction of the Gillespie board is as follows: All within the counties of Gillespie, Kimble, Mason, and Blanco, Texas.

This is quite an accomplishment.  Not only does Blanco have a home within a jurisdiction, Debbie and Candy are serving on the Gillespie board.  What’s next?  Gillespie Board is now looking at changing its name to be inclusive of the four counties (and any future counties).
