Historical Marker to be Unveiled at Blanco State Park Celebration
Wednesday, May 11, 2011 • Posted May 12, 2011

In celebrating National Historic Preservation Month, the Blanco Historic Preservation Commission, Texas Historical Commission, Blanco State Park, Friends of the Blanco State Park, and The Citizens of Blanco State Park will join together for a celebration with the unveiling of the Texas Historical Marker. The plaque will be placed in Blanco State Park at the pavilion (club house).

During this event, we will honor the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), the original landowners, and Ira Caswell, as well as recognizing the community of Blanco for the dedication and continued work and support to keep the Blanco State Park as we know and love it.

When you think of our state park, you think of the river. The river also symbolizes the love, memories, traditions, hard work and perseverance of the people who love and care about this park and this community.

With the unity of Blanco State Park, along with support of the many people who work hard to keep our park the beautiful park that it is, we are inviting you to come be a part of this memorable celebration.

The event will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at 6pm, at the Blanco State Park Pavilion (Club House). Please come and bring your memories, stories, pictures and share this historical event. The Friends of the Blanco State Park will serve refreshments.
