On May 2, the Lady Panther track team traveled 5 hours to compete in the Region I-AA, hosted by Odessa College. Comprised of sixteen competitors, the team placed seventh in the region.

Abbey Weaver qualified for State, winning the gold medal in pole vault with a jump of 10’6”. Abby Beard placed second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:20, her own BHS record. Meaghen Seales won second in the 1600 meter run with a new BHS record time of 5:25.

Although not a state qualifying time, another Blanco record was broken by the 4x200 meter relay team. Leslie McClinton, Brooke York, Angel Williams, and Abby Beard ran the relay in 1:49.

Weaver, Beard, and Seales will travel to Austin to compete in the State meet on Saturday, May 14.
