Blanco FFA Named Reserve National Champions
Wednesday, May 11, 2011 • Posted May 12, 2011

The Blanco FFA Land Judging Team spent the past week in Oklahoma City competing in the 60th Annual National Land and Range Judging Contest.  Team members Lauren Winn, Lindsey Winn, Erica Flores and Monica Flores competed in both the land judging contest and the homesite evaluation event, where they placed second overall and were named the 2011 Reserve National Champions for Homesite Evaluation.

Individually, Lauren placed 15th overall, while Lindsey finished 20th, followed by Erica at 21st and Monica at 25th.  Overall, there were 51 teams and 182 contestants competing in the homesite event.  This year’s contest proved to be one of the largest to date with more than 200 teams from 38 states competing in the land, range and homesite competitions.  This marks the 10th time that the Blanco FFA has qualified for a national contest.

Advisors for the Blanco FFA are Jason and Felice Marek.
