Stephen McGee Visits Blanco FBC to Help Raise Funds for Camp
Wednesday, May 11, 2011 • Posted May 12, 2011

Dreams came true for many children, and some adults, this past Saturday, April 30, right here in Blanco! Stephen McGee, former Burnet Bulldog, former Texas A&M Quarterback and current Dallas Cowboys back-up quarterback, was at the First Baptist Church. He came to give his testimony – and for those of you who missed it – it was awesome. Those of you who heard it – I am sure that you will agree – he had something pretty incredible to say!

Those attending planned on meeting Stephen, getting his autograph and hearing his testimony, but were excitedly surprised to witness Stephen saunter outside to throw some balls with the children playing football in the field. One 11-year-old boy told me that “this was the best day of his life!”  Wow!

Stephen’s other intent was to help us raise money, awareness and excitement for Kidz Kamp 2011. Kidz Kamp is a community outreach children’s camp for those currently in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Kidz Kamp will be held August 4-7 at the Franklin Family Ranch and is a program of the First Baptist Church. Please call 833-5867 for questions or to get forms.

We appreciate all who attended, gave donations, prayed for the day, and helped throughout the planning and the event itself.  It could not have happened without your support.
