On Wednesday, May 18, the Friends of Blanco State Park organization will host a historic celebration to unveil the Texas Historical Marker for the state park.  Everyone is invited to attend the event, which will be held in the group pavilion at 6pm.

The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), original land donors, and Ira Caswell will be honored.

Jennifer Oines pointed out to Jo Nell Haas that work on the park began in June 1933 and the park was completed on May 18, 1934.  This Wednesday will be the 77th anniversary of the completion of Blanco State Park.

The Blanco Historic Preservation Commission, Texas Historical Commission, Blanco State Park, and The Citizens of Blanco State Park will join the Friends of the Blanco State Park in celebrating the park and National Historic Preservation Month.
