What Does Our Hometown of Blanco Have in Common with Jesus’ Hometown?
Wednesday, May 18, 2011 • Posted May 19, 2011

Come find out the answer at Blanco United Methodist Vacation Bible School, which will be held Sunday, June 5 through Thursday, June 9 from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.   We will have a grilled hamburger dinner for parents and children with registration on Sunday afternoon beginning at 4:30 p.m.  All children will be given a free T-shirt.  There is no charge for attending Vacation Bible School.

The VBS theme is “Hometown Nazareth Where Jesus was a Kid.”  Children will travel back in time to Nazareth to get an idea of what family life might have been like and how people made a living when Jesus was a child.  They will learn that Jesus and his friends went to school just as they do, the importance of team work while being part of a family, and how important local businesses were to the community.  They will get to see what types of food Jesus might have eaten as a child.

Beginning Monday through Wednesday evening, children should arrive by 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Parents should plan to pick up their children each night no later than 8:00 p.m.  On Thursday, parents are invited to attend a pizza party and closing ceremonies, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.  After the program, we will have an ice cream float social.  You may register your child in advance on-line at or at the church office at 61 Pecan Street.  Should you have any questions, please contact our church office at 830-833-5030.
