Essay and Poster Contest Winners Announced

The Blanco County Child Protection and Family Advocacy Board held their essay and poster contest for the students of Blanco County in an effort to promote an awareness of child abuse. The students were divided into five age group categories, with winners placing first through third in each category. The youngest children created posters and the older children were given a choice of essay topics.

The winners in the Pre-K through second grade category were: Shelby M. – LBJ Elementary, Trinity M. – Blanco Elementary, and Asa B. – Hope School. The winners for grades three and four were: Taylor K. and Tyler M., both from Blanco Elementary. Fifth through sixth grade winners were: Kendalyn B. – Hope School, Alyssa R. – LBJ Middle School, and Montana W. – Blanco Middle School. In the seventh and eighth grade category, the winners were: Rebekah S. and Garrett K. – Hope School, and Reagan R. – Blanco Middle School.

The high school winners were Aubrey H. from LBJ High School, and Morgan M. and Jordan L. from Hope School.

The BCCP and FAB is a non-profit organization which serves the children of Blanco County who are in foster care.
