Dear Editor,

I am grateful and pleased for the bond propositions that passed. I want to thank all those who voted. Our community looked at the information that was presented and made an informed decision to support its school district and to build on its excellence, for this day and for the future. The Blanco ISD Board of Trustees look forward to working with the community to build the bond projects in a manner of which our community can be proud.

The big winner in this is the school children in our district, because they’re going to have adequate facilities, and they’re going to be safe.

Elections like this can divide a community. But right now is the time for the community to come together . Now the vote is in and this election has been decided. I think the people of Blanco are a winner. The people of Blanco have made a statement that they want to move ahead. It is the right time to upgrade our campuses and give our children what they need to succeed, just like our predecessors wanted for their children. This community has always placed education as a high priority.

Matthew Zuehl Herden
BISD board president
