Architect Randy Fromberg Meets with Elementary Teachers
Kickoff Meeting Intended to Serve Both as Update, Opportunity for Input
Wednesday, June 1, 2011 • Posted June 2, 2011

Architect Randy Fromberg met with the elementary faculty on Tuesday, May 24, at the elementary cafeteria. Also attending the meeting was architect Drew Cummings, an associate of Fromberg’s.

"We will be implementing significant facility improvements at the elementary campus," said Dr. Buck Ford, superintendent. "We want to ensure that we provide for input from our elementary personnel in the decision making process."

Fromberg explained the purpose of meeting with elementary staff.

"The main purpose of the meeting was to explain the Design Process with the teachers and staff," said Fromberg. "We wanted to outline the different phases of the Design Process, and what to expect next. We also wanted to identify how we plan to meet with the teachers and staff during the summer."

Plans are for a building committee, consisting of teachers and other representatives from Blanco ISD, to meet with the architects periodically during the summer in order to provide feedback during the Design Process.

Another purpose for the meeting cited by Fromberg was to review the Site Plan’s priorities, starting with a list of key concerns that teachers and staff had identified previously during the spring.

"I think the meeting was successful," said Fromberg. "We re-emphasized the continued involvement of the teachers, staff, and community. The teachers and staff clearly identified their key concern is the students’ safety and security. And a priority for the Site Plan is the placement of the cafeteria.

"We look forward to meeting with the Summer Design Committee. Our next meeting will provide Design Response Options that address the key concerns for the Site Plan."
