Who’s Who in the Blanco Historic Cemetery
Part 11

In Section B9, there are 13 graves in row 3. Since each row is designed for ten five-foot-wide graves, these people are buried very close together. Each section in the old part of the cemetery is unique in its layout. In “the old days” cemetery space was plentiful and people were buried wherever the family wanted them buried. When I was a little kid, Mrs. Wall was the funeral director in Blanco. The story goes that she built a rectangular metal frame that measured ten by five feet. She would take it to the cemetery, place it where she thought the grave should be and had the grave dug accordingly. She was quite the lady!
