Annual Blanco Lavender Festival Returns for 7th Year, Starts Fri.
Wednesday, June 8, 2011 • Posted June 9, 2011

This weekend, Friday through Sunday, June 10-12, the square in Blanco will fill with the buzz of vendors and shoppers from all over, coming to enjoy the booths and sights and sounds of the 7th Annual Lavender Festival. Hosted by the Blanco Chamber of Commerce, the festival promotes Blanco’s trademark crop, lavender.

The weekend will be filled with activities, including speakers on all things lavender, musicians in Bindseil Park, wine and beer tasting, and great food. Four of the local lavender farms will be open for tours and visitors will be welcomed to cut their own lavender.

The market on the square will be open Friday noon to 6pm, Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday 10am-4pm, and the lavender farms will hold tours and provide activities during those times.

The Lavender Festival offers a little bit of something for everybody, so stop by and browse or go visit one of our great local lavender farms.

Bloom Update — Due to the drought of this past winter and spring, which is ongoing, the Blanco lavender farms are experiencing a below-average bloom this season and thus will not be offering “Cut Your Own Lavender.” We invite you to come out and enjoy our farms, but don’t want you to be disappointed by the lack of blooms. There will be many wonderful products and fun events to enjoy at the farms during the Lavender Festival, even if there is not much lavender. Please take this into account when you are planning your trip.
