Dear Hearts and Gentle People:
I was informed of a random act of kindness the other day and wanted to pass it along - On June 1, between Blanco and Johnson City, a PEC crew was kind enough to stop and aid a lady in distress — they changed her tire! That goes above and beyond the call of electricity!
Blanco’s (we claim him as our own now) Phil Evett has a joint exhibit with Jan Rowe at the Radius Gallery in San Antonio, beginning June 10, which will include his drawings and her art as well.
On June 2, Phyllis Gallant turned 96 and was feted at the Chess Club June 3 by her family. Happy birthday, Phyllis! May you live long and prosper!
The Chess Club must be getting to be the birthday go-to place! On June 1, Rebecca Howerton hosted a surprise (and was it ever!) birthday party for Diane Hostetler. Attendees included Barbara Dowdy, Pat Woods, Tommy and Pat Vallone, Wayne and Martha Gosnell, and Reva Mobley and friend. A good time was had by all, so I was told!
Don’t forget, as if you could, the officially-sanctioned Blanco Lavender Festival is this weekend. Please enjoy the activities on the Square and in Bindseil Park as well as at the farms. And a good time will be had by all! I know — I will be there!!
