Christ is Supreme
Wednesday, June 8, 2011 • Posted June 9, 2011

In Colossians chapter 1, verses 15-23 Paul said:

Christ Is Supreme

“15 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,

16 for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.

17 He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.

18 Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.

19 For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ,

20 and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

21 This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. 22 Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

23 But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.”

In Romans 10:1-4 Paul also said: “1Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. 2 I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. 3 For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. 4 For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.”

All who believe in Christ are made right with God. That’s what it says. We have to continue to believe it, and don’t let anyone or anything rob us of our faith. Remember what faith is.

Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”

God gave us all a ‘measure’ of faith. Romans 12:3 “3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

So we each were given a ‘measure’of faith for us to build on. That’s the way I see it; because Jesus said we need lots of it, even though faith like a mustard seed can move mountains, He told some people they didn’t have enough of it! See Matthew 16:8 and Matthew 17:20. We need faith! And where does it come from?

Romans 10:17 “So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.”

Paul said “Clearly, God’s promise to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants was based not on his obedience to God’s law, but on a right relationship with God that comes by faith.” Romans 4:13

Paul said “23 But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.” Colossians 1:23 (above).

Since Paul said the Good News has been preached all over the world, (above) that means that Jesus will come at any moment. Are you ready to meet Him? You will meet Him, some day, but right now you can choose what side of the Jordan you will see Him from. I’m praying you will know His love and mercy, and receive Him into your heart now, while you are still alive and breathing, and that you find a church home where God’s truth is taught and preached, where people will love you and you will make new friends in Christ and have a spiritual family, as well as your given earthly family.

You know, you may have been born into a wonderful family, but there may be some members who are hateful unbelievers, but you don’t have to stay that way! The Good News is God has a family of loving people who are trying to live right and treat people right, even if they still screw up. We’re not perfect yet, but we’re supposed to be trying. Some members of your family are not trying. We need to pray for them, and find a church where we can pray with each other for our own problems, as well as the problems of the world! We all need a prayer partner we can trust! And if you’re married, it should be your spouse! Because God blesses our marriages, and you husbands are head of the household, so when us wives pray our husbands I believe God blesses us and answers us because Jesus said “Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven.” Matthew 18:19. Amplified Version

May the Lord bless you, and me, too!
