Dear Editor,

On May 28, 2011 we were in route to Choke Canyon Lake at Three Rivers and developed a transmission leak in our Ford F250 Super Duty truck. We were trying to figure out what to do when Tammie Ross with the Blanco Police department stopped by to check on us. She listened to our story and then set out to find a solution to our dilemma. She contacted Mark McMain with the City of Blanco and he knew of someone who could possibly repair the truck. He called Cody Triesch, who came by and determined it could be repaired but would take some time. Meanwhile we made arrangements to get my brother back to our house in Valley Mills to get his truck so we could continue our vacation and pick up my truck on the way back. Since it was extremely hot we needed a place to park our RV until the next day and Elissa Barker from Blanco Riverside Cottages & RV Park offered a place for us to stay. All the above people are outstanding; they went beyond the extra mile to help strangers stranded in their city. That puts Blanco in the must visit category in my books. We picked up the truck on Monday, June 6, from Triesch Garage (Cody’s father) and was very pleased with the work and price.
