On Sunday, Marilyn, Lawrence, and Nan Mikes went to Seguin for a Father’s Day lunch and homemade ice cream. Debbie, Bobby, and Travis Burt and Shelby, Geoff, and Brody Striedel prepared the lunch. The best part of the visit was seeing Brody! He is almost two weeks old, and he got a lot of attention from the great-grandparents and a very proud great-aunt.

Paul & Marcie Domke, of Valparaiso, Indiana, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary! Friends and extended family from all over the country, including Colorado & South Dakota, came to partake in the festivities. The party was hosted by their children, Paula Rukavina, Carla Weiss, Gayla Domke (also from Valparaiso), and Keith Domke (from St. Clair, Missouri). Paul & Marcie are the paternal grandparents of Rachelle & Charles Willgren.

Speaking of the Willgrens, Charles and Rachelle hosted an impromptu Sunday lunch for James Hearn, Sheryl Smith-Rogers, and Vickie Pautz. Rachelle made penne pasta with tomato meat sauce, garlic bread, and a vegetable medley. Vickie brought a salad. For dessert, the Willgrens served HEB strawberry sherbet, which was surprisingly tasty! Even Buffy the dog had a good time and even decided to make amends with James.

Thoughts go out to Lola Dowdy, who broke her arm, and to Bob Dorsett, who is going to be celebrating his 80th birthday! Happy birthday, Bob!
