Keep Blanco Beautiful
Wednesday, June 22, 2011 • Posted June 24, 2011 11:25 AM

You can still find a “little bit” of green shaded area in Blanco right downtown by the square. Try walking down in Bindseil Park and enjoy the quiet serene feeling. You might want to pick up some lunch at one of our local eating places and sit at one of the bench tables. Or just relax under the trees on one of the new benches.

Keep Blanco Beautiful is trying to keep the plants as good as we can during this hot, dry time. Fortunately, a lot of the plants are native and withstand the drought. We are limited to watering once a week, so there may not be as many bloomers in the Park right now, but it is still a beautiful place to visit. The pot plants are hanging in there, so just enjoy for now.

We still have a lot of work to do just keeping everything trimmed and cleaned. You are still needed to help. Tuesday mornings at 8:30am until 10:30 right now. It starts getting pretty hot by then.

Remember to water your own plants either early in the morning or late evening or night. They recommended on TV between dusk and dawn. I have been watering my own late at night. It is cooler for me and better for the plants.

Hope to have you join us, even if just for one week. Every little bit helps!
