In Sections 6B and 5B the beauty and charm of the cemetery are mixed with a little mystery. There are several “unknowns” marked by a single stone buried halfway in the ground. Some of these stones are in family plots marked off by a curb. Are they part of the family or were they there first? One large monument is facing a different direction than the other monuments. The death date is 1899. It’s the oldest marker in that small area. There appears to be a military insignia on the tombstone of Laura Hazel Harmon. Does anyone know if she served in the armed forces? Many questions will always remain unanswered but you just can’t help but think about the possibiities.
