American Legion, Blanco Joins JC’s Spange-Dangle Parade

The American Legion Memorial Highway Post 352 and the Memorial Highway Auxiliary Unit 352 participated in the July 4th parade in Johnson City along with many other participants. The American Legion was very honored to be the Color Guard. On the float were Commander Tom Avants, 1st Vice Commander Steve Klein, and 2nd Vice Commander Dale Spreen. Chaplain and Past Commander Ted Weeks and Past Commander Bruce Huguelet marched beside the float guarding the flags along with members Donald Broyles, Spc 4th class Thomas Broyles (who recently returned from Afghanistan), and dual member Lura Vanzant. Auxiliary members, President Roxanna Avants, Vice President Christine Huguelet, Chaplain Randi Weeks, and Junior Amaya Alaniz (granddaughter of the Avants) were also on the float, along with Johnson City Chamber Rep. and veteran Clem Villars, Sr. Airman Michael Sean Hall, China Post member Jimmy Jacks, and Donald Broyles’ three granddaughters.
