Deut. 4:5–9 says, “Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day? Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons.”

Although in context these verses are referring to Israel, they most certainly apply to our nation, which was founded by people of God – Christian pilgrims – looking to establish a Christian society. That is our heritage. Our president has stated that the U.S. is not a Christian nation. Well, if he means that the majority of people that live in the U.S. are not true Bible believing, born again Christians – then he is right. We are now in the minority, although some 70+% of Americans claim to be “Christian”. However, if he means that we are not fundamentally and historically a Christian nation, then he is wrong.

Our roots are unmistakably and unashamedly Judeo-Christian. To read the true history of Plymouth and the writings of our Founding Fathers, you would have to be willfully ignorant to not see their acknowledgement, their faith, and their obedience to God and there respect and admiration for the Holy Bible. Just look at some of these quotes:

“I have examined all religions, ...and the Bible is the best book in the world” – John Adams. “My hopes of a future life are all founded upon the Gospel of Christ” – John Quincy Adams. “I would make it (the Bible), in short, the Alpha and Omega of knowledge” – Elias Boudinot. “...the system of morals and His (Jesus) religion …(is) the best the world ever saw, or is likely to see” – Ben Franklin. “The Bible is a book worth more than all the books that were ever printed” – Patrick Henry. “The Bible is the best of all books, for it is the Word of God, and teaches us the way to be happy in this world and in the next” – John Jay. “...to the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian” – George Washington. “The Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children under a free government ought to be instructed” – Noah Webster. We are indeed a Christian nation; but our foundations are being destroyed (Ps 11:3).

As in the above verses in Deut. 4, we were a nation that was set apart, a shining city on a hill. We were exceptional. No government like ours had ever existed. Millions flocked to this country to live free, to have opportunity to succeed or fail, to live in peace, to worship freely. But we didn’t take heed to ourselves. We didn’t keep diligent watch. We got lazy. We got comfortable. We didn’t teach our kids and grandkids the truth about our great nation and its great God. We forgot our roots, got into making money, and forgot the important things – Godly heritage, holiness, faith, family, commitment, integrity, etc.

Now, Marxist/Socialist/Communist/Secular Humanist are running our country; and it shows. Now, if you hold the views of our Founding Fathers, you are considered a “Flake”, and you are torn to shreds by Left-wing Marxist Press. However, if you are for “gay” marriage, abortion on demand, throwing out the Constitution, eliminating the Bible, crosses, prayer, and any thing remotely Christian from society, gun control, and global warming, etc. – then you are cool and “progressive”. Our Founding Fathers would have called you a fool – and rightly so. Our Founding Fathers are no doubt “rolling in their graves” for what we have allowed to happen.

What makes a nation great? What makes a nation blessed? Psa 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Pro 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Pro 11:11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. Pro 29:8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath. And who are the wise men? Pro 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

If the foundations are destroyed, and The Bible, Christianity, and Jesus Christ are removed from our society, this country will quickly become an epic failure – and the American experiment will be over. We are on the brink of this now, but I believe there is still hope for recovery. Here are some steps we can take to get our nation back: 1. We must regularly pray for our nation. 2. Be about Kingdom business. Get right with God. Meditate on and pray over the Word of God every day. Know it and obey it. Be salt and light. Speak the truth in love. In short, be a Biblical Christian. 3. Educate yourself on Godly government and American history. Read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Read “The 5000 year leap”. Go to Wallbuilders.com and learn “original document” history. 4. Get involved. Register to vote. Research candidates. Put people in office that stand for Godly values and exalt the constitution. Support Godly candidates in prayer and finances. Maybe even ...run for office yourself! Let's take America back.

Vote God’s Word. If a candidate or party stands for what God stands against; then stand against that party or person. Be on the side of right. Be on the side of God. A real quick and easy way to find out what God stands for or against, is to read the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:1–17. If a party or person is opposed to acknowledging God (beyond lip service), praying in the Name of Jesus, using The Bible as our guide in governing, and calling Christian Holy days what they are (instead of Winter break, Holiday trees, and all the other stupidity) – then they oppose the first four commandments; and I oppose them. If a party or person wants to take any rights from parents concerning raising, teaching, or disciplining their children; or if it wants to devalue the marriage covenant by recognizing anything other than one man and one woman – then they oppose commandments 5 and 7, and so oppose God. So I oppose them. If a party or person is for protecting the guilty and murdering the innocent, including unborn babies in the safety of their mother’s womb, then they oppose the sixth commandment – so I oppose them. If a party or person is for taking your hard earned money, and giving it to a person that sits on their sofa all day expecting a hand out – they oppose commandments 8 and 10. So I oppose them. If a party or persons doesn’t mind breaking the law in order to win – then they oppose the 9th commandment. If they oppose God‘s Word, then I oppose them.

Confess your sin and repent for letting heathens and their politicians have your nation. This is our nation. This is a Godly nation. This is a Christian nation. Fight for it – as our Christian Fathers did. I pray you had a blessed fourth of July!
