Several local members of the Blanco FFA Chapter have already had a busy summer attending various camps across the state. James Leachman, Rance Dollahite, Kristen Bowman and Alley Penshorn spent 4 days at the Area VII Leadership Development Camp held at McKinney Roughs in Bastrop. These students spent their time participating in leadership and team building activities while also planning activities for the upcoming school year. Other Blanco FFA members attending a camp this summer included Ed Alvarado, Cody Perez and Alex Gustafson, who all sharpened their livestock judging skills by attending the Texas A&M University Livestock Camp at College Station.

Up next for the Blanco FFA Chapter will be the State FFA Convention in Lubbock, where several other students will be recognized on stage for their various accomplishments. The state convention will be held on the campus of Texas Tech University from July 11 to 15.
