Just a few more programs left for the Summer Reading Program – Gardening Magic, Historical Tools, and Giggling Game Day! Programs are every Wednesday from 2-3:30. Keep reading until August 5, kids!

We have an adult computer class this Friday, July 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for computer and internet basics. It’s free! We will take a break from 12-1 for lunch. Give us a call at 830-833-4280 and let us know if another day and time would be better because we have the opportunity for one more class provided by the State!

For the month of July, we are showcasing an art gallery by Byron Brown in our large conference room. Mr. Brown was born in 1932 in Sipes Springs, TX, being one of 14 children. He joined the army in 1949 with his brother and was wounded a year later in Korea. After becoming paralyzed from his wound, he went on to get married and had 5 children. Upon retiring he helped the Disabled Veterans (DAV) of Oklahoma and became the State Commander of the DAV. His passions in life have been his family, helping others, and his art that he has done since he was little. His art features beautiful landscapes, animals, and still life. Come see his wonderful works that he wants to share with the community.

Volunteers are needed! We need someone for desk/shelving shifts Tuesdays 5-8 p.m. and Fridays 1-3 p.m. Volunteer at the library and get to know your community. Just stop in and fill out one of our forms.

Remember to check out our website, www.blancolib.org, for information about what’s happening at the library, view our catalog, and check out our wish list.
