Wednesday, July 27, 2011 • Posted July 28, 2011

On June 26, the Champion Baseball 14u Baseball Team traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to play in the Cal Ripkin Experience Baseball Tournament. After opening day ceremonies, the team participated in a turn two competition where the players are timed turning four double plays. With 13u and 14u teams from all around the United States participating, Champion Baseball won first place.

On the following day pool play began and Champion Baseball won their first two games against teams from Atlanta, Georgia, and Akron, Ohio. Then Champion Baseball faced the eventual Champion from Pembroke Lake, Florida, for their first defeat. Champion Baseball eventually lost in the semi-finals of the championship bracket against a team from Ft. Worth, Texas.

The team would like to dedicate this tournament to Dalton Crofts, our injured second baseman, and his father, Coach Scott Crofts. We missed you guys. Champion Baseball players, coaches, and parents appreciate everyone who helped make this an incredible baseball experience for all of these young men.
