Dear Editor,

In reference to my letter last week, the morning after it was published, my totem pole was returned to my property.

For one, I am thankful that small prayers are answered; two, I am thankful that I will not have to go through the headache of “filing charges” against this person, as I promised that, if it was returned, I would not turn the pictures over to the Sheriff’s Dept. All would be forgiven and any charges dropped. Three, I received an extra special bonus, as the person who took my pole, a local, actually called me to apologize for “the stupid thing that he had done.” We had a conversation about right and wrong and how I prayed that he had learned his lesson about trespassing and taking things that don’t belong to him.

For whatever reason this happened, the outcome was good. I hope this person really was touched by this incident and will use this in his future decisions throughout his life. The outcome could have been a bad one, not only for him, but his parents as well, had I not given him the chance that I did. Thank you for making a better decision your second time around!
