Catcher In The Wheat
New Beer In Town!
Wednesday, August 3, 2011 • Posted August 4, 2011

Pecan Street Brewing, just up the road in Johnson City, has introduced their newest beer, “catchingly” named “Catcher in the Wheat” by Clem Villars, local resident and beer connoisseur. This beer is an unfiltered American Wheat Ale. It pairs well with Pecan Street’s signature Pomegranate Salad, and many other dishes, as it is mild in flavor. The other beer that Pecan Street is offering from their own beer stable is County Jail Pale Ale, a beer with a bigger flavor that pairs well with foods with “bigger” tastes. To round out the offerings, there are also four of Blanco County’s own Real Ale’s beers on tap: Brewhouse Brown, Fireman’s Four, Lost Gold IPA, and their 15th anniversary beer, an Imperial Stout. Soon, they hope to be serving other guest beers, starting with some from Dripping Spring’s own microbrewery, Jester King. At least two new Pecan Street beers will be introduced during August, so be sure to stop in and check them out!

Other additions to Pecan Street are seafood specials, Steak Frites and other specials, ‘Hoppy Hour’ on weekdays 4-6 with beer pints $1.00 off and pitchers reduced $2.00. Starting on August 4-5, Pecan Street will start serving the lunch crowd at 11am. Lunch will be available only on Thursday and Friday to start, but additional days will continually be added. To serve patrons as quickly as possible, the menu will be slightly abbreviated, but you can count on their delicious brick-oven pizzas and the “Old Fashioned Texas Burger” to fill you up and get you back to work in short order.

Sunday night is family dinner night at Pecan Street Brewing. In addition to their regular menu, the kitchen staff is preparing home-style favorites sure to please everyone. Meals change weekly and are served “family style” and include a meat entrée with three sides, bread and dessert, all for one low price of $10.95 for adults, $5.95 for children under 12. Make it a time for your family to spend together, without having the fuss of cooking all day or cleaning up afterwards. See you on Sundays!

To provide a friendly and enjoyable environment, Pecan Street Brewing has added free Wi-fi, so come in and enjoy a beer, all the while surfing the internet, “working” or just staying in touch with friends and family. Now that’s what they mean by “Get Loose… Stay Connected!”
