Love is in the air in Blanco. Keep your eyes and ears open!

Reverend Wally Hiller was feted for his 90th birthday yesterday at Blanco United Methodist Church. I know for a fact he got lots of kisses (because I was one of the kissers) and was given a birthday party, after church, in the social hall. He is probably one of the best dressed gentlemen in Blanco, and he knows I think so!

One of our wonderful restaurants will be changing locations, so watch for progress on that front. I am excited, as are the owners. And there are some other changes going on on the Square, courtesy of Michelle Edge and Kristi Romero. Lots of bling and other interesting goodies... Speaking of bling, Strickland's also has some bling (not counting me)... check it out!

There was a second-hand Ada Cooley sighting Saturday. I heard she and Ronnie had a great trip to Arkansas and are now recuperating (I expect from too much fun).

The Blanco Community Choir is singing for the LBJ event at PEC headquarters in Johnson City at 10:00 on Friday morning. We do a great job (nothing like shameless self-promotion), so come hear us and join in on "Deep in the Heart of Texas!"

Speaking of Community Choir, rehearsals for our annual Christmas concert begin Sunday, September 11, at the Baptist Church, probably about 4:30 in the afternoon. We have a lot of fun – come join us!

In case you've been out of the loop, school has started, so watch for the kids who are walking or waiting for the bus, especially since the days get shorter (when you reach September).

News on the goat front – I will be (as of this reading) the proud owner of three young lady goats, already named Benazir Bhutto and the Miracle Girls (loads of thanks to Dennis Uecker). Hopefully, after they become acclimated to our south forty, I can acquire a gentleman caller or two for them.

Rain or cooler weather, whichever comes first – I don't really care!
