Thursday, August 25, 2011 • Posted August 25, 2011

The Blanco All Sports Booster Club hosted the 6th annual Meet the Panther Night on Wednesday, August 17. The Booster Club appreciates all of the students, parents and volunteers who attended and helped at the event. A special thank you is extended to Jay Tope, sasports.com announcer, for driving out to Blanco and announcing throughout the event.

Officers for the All Sports Booster Club 2011/2012 school year were introduced as were the fall sports participants, cheerleaders, dance team and band members. Local business owner Pierre “Chili” Perez was elected to the All Sports Booster Club President position back in May of 2011. He gave a speech at Meet the Panthers as well as introduced Jim Raby as Vice President, Cele Romero as Treasurer and Melissa Kneese as Secretary. “Chili” also thanked the outgoing officers for all of their hard work and dedication throughout their volunteer years.

Meet the Panther Night was successful in pulling in 9 business memberships and 57 family memberships. If you were unable to attend Meet the Panthers and are interested in joining the All Sports Booster Club with a family or business membership, please contact President “Chili” Perez at 830.832.6571 or email at chilipepper@moment.net . You may also contact Secretary Melissa Kneese at 210.414.9783 or email at mlkklk@yahoo.com.

The Booster Club is looking for volunteers to help with the concession stand throughout the 2011 football season. Please contact Tiffany Hodge by email at tiffany.hodge79@gmail.com to find out the dates that volunteers are needed and to sign up.

The All Sports Booster Club would like to thank all of our new and returning members for their contributions. You are invited to attend the next Booster Club meeting on Wednesday, September 7 at 6:30pm at the middle school library. There is no such thing as too many members or too many volunteers in our growing community. We hope to see you there.
